Duke Lacrosse

Holding to the blue Devils tradition of excellence, the Duke lacrosse team is one of the best competing lacrosse teams in all of scholastic athletics. However Duke lacrosse will be forever marred by something that has nothing to do with her playing skills all but actually a party at a bunch of them went to. Couple of years ago the Duke lacrosse team was accused by a young lady that they had raped her at a party where she was a dancer. This news sent shock waves through the world of professional and college athletics and the entire Duke lacrosse teams season was sent down the tubes.

However what appeared at first to be malicious and horrible act was actually ended up being nothing more than a hoax. Duke lacrosse team was found innocent and Duke lacrosse assault charges were all dropped. For this reason many people including Al Sharpton thought that all sorts of bad things through and happen; what ended up happening is a bunch of people end looking really silly and a whole season of athletics is wasted because of false accusations.

While there was something to be said for the Duke lacrosse case, it ended up being nothing more than a whole lot of hot air because of the fact that a girl who did the accusations couldn't get her story straight. If there was anything to this rape case than the rape victim did not do a very good job at the trial because she ended up saying a lot of contradictory things and then their ended up being nothing to go with.

The Duke lacrosse players are then able to put on their shirts again and go back out and play the game. However many of them will probably reconsider a career as a cross or at least certainly scale back their involvement in the social scene. This is one of the things that can have long-lasting effects and can be so horrible thing for both people involved because now future rape victims are going to not want to come forward because of what happened to this girl and future players are going to fear being young and having fun just because of what happened to these players. If there is a lesson to be learned from this, it would seem to be that there is no easy way to do something hard and that there is little room for people who want to do the things that they should be doing.
